===== Which IM clients does SureVoIP support? =====

Lots! SureVoIP supports any client that supports XMPP (also known as [[http://www.jabber.org/|Jabber]]) with TLS (for encrypted and secure chat). This includes [[http://www.pidgin.im/|Pidgin]], [[http://adium.im/|Adium]], [[http://oneteam.im|OneTeam]], Messages (used to be iChat), [[https://jitsi.org/|Jitsi]], [[https://imo.im/|imo.im]] and [[http://xmpp.org/xmpp-software/clients/|others]].

  * For a Windows or Linux desktop, we recommend [[http://www.pidgin.im/|Pidgin]], [[https://jitsi.org/|Jitsi]] and [[http://oneteam.im|OneTeam]]
  * For a Mac, we recommend [[http://adium.im/|Adium]], [[https://jitsi.org/|Jitsi]], [[http://oneteam.im|OneTeam]] and Messages

===== Other - Windows/Mac/Linux  =====

Start your instant message program and locate the menu where you can add a new account (usually in preferences or settings).

Create a new account by entering the following info:

  Protocol: XMPP or Jabber
  Username: as given to you by SureVoIP
  Domain: surevoip.im
  Jabber ID: username@surevoip.im
  Password: <your SureVoIP Portal password>

Enter the following server info, as requested:

  Port: 5222
  Server: surevoip.im
  Use SSL/TLS: yes
  Allow plaintext authentication: no
  
 These will work on any client and you usually don't need to add surevoip.im on the **Server** part as your client software will work it out.
