How to Set Up the Grandstream (Legacy Models)

The Grandstream GXP 2000 is a enterprise SIP telephone with support for up to four lines, dual ethernet ports and can be configured through the built in web configuration page.

Configuration

Once the phone has powered up, the IP address will be shown across the bottom of the display. Enter this into your web browser.

The default password is admin if it has not already been changed.

Go to the Account 1 tab and fill out the info as shown.

  • Account Name can be set to your name or company name.
  • SIP Server should be set to what is provided in your welcome email.
  • Outbound Proxy should be left blank, unless you have specific requirements.
  • SIP User ID should be set to your account user ID, which will be provided in your welcome email.
  • Authenticate ID will be the same as SIP User ID
  • Authenticate Password will be your SIP secret, provided in your welcome email.
  • Name can be anything meaningful to you. It will display on the phone idle screen.
  • Leave everything else as default.

Scroll down to the bottom and click Update then reboot the phone.

Troubleshooting

If the phone will not register, check over the account info page for anything that may be mistyped.

Ensure that:

  • SIP Registration is set to On.
  • STUN off
  • Local SIP Port is 5060
  • DTMF set to Via SIP Info and RTP (RFC2833)

Your firewall is not preventing your phone from reaching the internet. Please refer to the NAT and Firewall settings page.
